Below are the solutions to cope up with that problem:
Method 1 – Reinstall google chrome or upgrade google chrome
(1) Go to “control panel –> Programs and features –> Select google chrome” to uninstall it.
(2) Now go to this path in your local computer “C:Program FilesGoogle” and delete “Chrome” folder. If you are using 64 bit computer then path of the folder will be ” C:Program Files (x86)Google”.
(3) Now, Go here and download latest version of google chrome and install it.
(4) Restart your computer after reinstalling google chrome and check whether problem is resolved or not.
Method 2 – Clear cookies and disable unwanted extensions and apps
(1) Click on this icon (Top right side of gogole chrome) –> go to settings –> Show advanced settings.

Disable apps and extensions
(1) Write “chrome://extensions/” in url bar.
(2) Now disable all the extensions.

(1) Write “chrome://apps/” in google chrome address bar.
(2) Right click on it –> Remove from chrome.
Now, Restart your computer and check whether “google chrome stops working” problem got resolved or not.
Method 3 – Reset google chrome to initial point
There might be a possibility that due to changes in settings or customization, google chrome has stopped working. So let’s try to reset it and put it back to original point.
(1) Click on this icon (Top right side of google chrome) –> go to settings –> Scroll down –> Click on show advanced settings.
(2) Now Click on “Reset Settings” which will reset all of your settings.
(3) Now, try checking google chrome to see whether the solution has worked or not.

Method 4 – Check for system files using SFC to repair google chrome
System file checker (SFC) is a utility from microsoft for windows os to check for corrupted system files. It automatically scans your system and finds corrupted files. If it finds any, it asks you to insert windows installation disk and replace those corrupted files.
(1) Open command prompt in administrator mode.
(2) Type “SFC.EXE /SCANNOW” and press enter.
(3) Insert Windows installation Disk if it asks for it.

Method 5 – Turn off sandbox mode
Sand box is a security tool to secure google chrome. Sandbox leverages the OS-provided security to allow code execution that cannot make persistent changes to the computer or access information that is confidential. So in sandbox mode, you might not be able to see webpages correctly or it may be causing problems to provide additional security to chrome.
(1) Right click on google chrome shortcut on desktop or taskbar.
(2) Select properties –> Go to shortcut tab.
(3) Now add “-no-sandbox” at the end of path.
(4) Do this thing for all the google chrome shortcuts.

Now, restart the computer and check whether it is working fine in no sandbox mode or not.
You can apply above solutions any OS like windows 7, 8, xp, vista or any linux OS and it will be applicable in all laptop brands like Lenovo, Sony Waio, HP, Compaq, Dell, Acer, Samsung, Asus etc. This way, you can repair or fix google chrome and solve errors like suddenly stopped working, not responding etc.

Same issue here, temporarily solved by adding –reduce-gpu-sandbox in chrome shortchuts.

Hey guys, I usually use Google Chrome but ever since this morning 12/1 I have had to use Firefox because every time I open a new page, tab, or incognito window in Chrome the page comes up as “untitled and it’s just a grey screen. The same applies to the settings, and the help pages. Also my theme loads a quarter way and then it goes grey. Also I don’t get any error messages and Chrome task manager doesn’t show any problems. Please help asap. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it did not help
