But whatever might be the reason, you can troubleshoot it in a number of ways.

The process of enabling Safe mode varies with every mobile phone brand. In most devices, First you have to switch off your phone. Now Press the Power on button to turn your phone on. This happened to me after the “TEAMWIN” screen came up and I performed a backup. now I keep hitting ok on the “Process com.android.phone has stopped working error” message and it keeps going back to it. SO I CANNOT EXIT THIS NOR HIT THE OPTION FOR RESTART.

As I was trying these steps my thumb accidentally hit airplane mode and suddenly the auto restart cycle the phone had been on since this morning (N.B. this is 12hrs later) ended!! Yay!!! And I was then able to factory reset the whole device. Before that, every time I had tried to reset it, it was a race against time before the com.android.phone error message would appear and the phone would go into this mad repeat restarting cycle (Groan and LOL).
Phone is currently reinstalling my data from my back-ups.
Hope this helps someone somewhere!
Bless you.

This happens to me only when I turn off my wifi connection (or whenever I am not connected to it). My sim card does not work at the same time only when I’m not connected to the internet. It says “no sim card” while the annoying pop-out “com.phone.android” keeps coming out in my screen. My phone’s model is MI redmi note 3. Who has the same situation? Pls help.
