It is no surprise that since it is autumn, it is time for yet another Apple launch event. This next event will take place on September 7th in Cupertino, CA, at the Apple headquarters. In this post, we will share what we anticipate for the upcoming Apple launch event, including what technology may be announced and what the tagline of the event might reference. Consider visiting a technology forum to discuss the event with other Apple users.
Here is What We Know About the Upcoming Apple Launch Event
For the past few years, Apple’s launch events have been all-digital because of COVID. But this year, the company’s event will be both online and offline. Media will be able to attend at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, but the public will be able to stream it on YouTube and Apple’s site. How much of the event will be pre-recorded versus live, we can only guess. “Far out” is the event tagline.
According to CNBC, we can expect Apple to potentially feature the following technologies at this launch event:
- Four new models of iPhone 14
- Apple Watch Series 8
- iOS 16
Note that none of these are confirmed—they are simply predictions. According to reports, CNBC says, “This year Apple will likely discontinue the “mini” model with a 4.7-inch screen. Instead, Apple could offer two sizes [of the iPhone 14], one with a 6.1-inch screen and one with a 6.7-inch screen, each coming in a standard model and a pricier “Pro” model.
Reports also suggest that we could see some changes to the configurations of the Pro models for this next iteration of the iPhone. These models could feature more extensive displays, thanks to a “cutout” for the FaceID camera in place of the existing “notch.” The camera itself should see an upgrade, along with the A16 processor. One more change that some anticipate is an Android-like fixed on-screen notification display.
While the possible features of the next iPhone are dominating a lot of the discussion about the upcoming Apple launch event, there is also a lot of chatter about what the iPhone 14 will cost. Apple users are also wondering if the release of the iPhone 14 will lead to a decrease in pricing for previous iPhones.
Another question a lot of people are asking is, “What does the tagline ‘Far Out’ mean?” Most of the rumors seem to suggest something to do with the camera. Some people think based on both the tagline and the promotional video of the Apple logo in the stars that astrophotography could be involved. Another idea could be a telephoto update.
Of course, these are both very literal interpretations. Another possibility is that it could be a feature for satellite connectivity. That is something that a lot of users have been expecting for quite some time.
Moving on in our discussion of the launch event, what about the Apple Watch? The Wall Street Journal says that the Apple Watch Series 8 may incorporate a body temperature sensor and sophisticated features for sleep tracking. Bloomberg and Kuo also think that an Apple Watch Series 8 Pro could be forthcoming. There may also be a new Apple Watch SE on the way. While the product will look the same as the existing version, it will be powered by a faster chip.
As far as other upcoming Apple releases go, there will be a delay in the launch of iPadOS 16. Nevertheless, iOS 16 should still come out in September for iPhone.
